Hamilton’s in Geashill, Co Offaly
Hamilton’s, an award winning pub in Geashill, Co Offaly, has come to the market and licensed premises specialist agent John P Younge is quoting €370,000 for it.
The premises has recently been re-modelled throughout, furnished, fitted and equipped to an exceptionally high standard while retaining its ‘old world’ character.
Occupying a prominent corner trading position on a crossroads in the centre of Geashill village, it benefits from double-frontages at a busy intersection and currently enjoys a popular local and passing trade.
Its retail area extends to about 1,538 sqft (142.93 sqm) and is complemented by a beer garden. In addition a purchaser can avail of its duplex three-bedroom apartment which extends to 686 sqft and includes a study, bathroom and sitting room.
The duplex is accessible from its own outside door as well as from the pub with which it shares a kitchen located on the ground floor of the premises.
Standing on a site of about one-third of an acre, it comes with stone-built outbuildings and an outer yard which has development potential.
Situated mid-way between, and about 12 kilometres from, the towns of Portarlington and Tullamore, it is located on the R420 arterial route. Geashill traces its origins back to a 12th century Anglo-Norman settlement.
John Younge says that it “offers considerable potential for further business expansion and development”.
There is only one other pub in the quaint village of Geashill.
