An initial €20m is being invested in a planned new ferry service between Cork and France by a company controlled by Larry Goodman’s family, the Irish Independent has learned.

The Irish Independent revealed earlier this month that Laurence Goodman, chairman of ABP Food Group and son of “beef baron” Larry Goodman, was backing the plan to launch the Hibernia Line ferry service.
