Hoxton Wealth, an international advisory group, has appointed Rob Aberdein to the newly-created role of general counsel and director of legal and strategic growth.
Mr Aberdein, formerly chief commercial officer at Progeny, will play a key role in Hoxton’s move to integrate legal services alongside its existing wealth management and tax offering.
The legal services division will initially focus on developing capability in the UK and UAE, with lawyers based locally in those markets, supported by operational hubs in both Dubai and Durban.
Mr Aberdein founded and led Edinburgh-based Moray Group, before the business was acquired by UK wealth consolidator Progeny, where he served as chief commercial officer.
He was previously a partner at Walker Morris and Aberdein Considine.
