Taking the plunge to follow your artistic dreams can be daunting. Even if you’re not ready to quit the day job just yet, there are supports in place to help you make the most from your creative work.

For more than 55 years, income earned by writers, musicians, visual artists and sculptors has been exempt from income tax in Ireland – so long as the work is original and creative, as defined by the Revenue Commissioners.
