Flight ticket refunds, and is it worth paying off a mortgage faster?

Q I booked a flight to the US with Lastminute.com in January 2020. The flight was cancelled due to Covid and I was given the option of a refund worth €573.31 or travel credit of €717.75. I opted for the travel credit.
I had the option of changing my mind and seeking a cash refund between November 2020 and May 2021. Because Covid restrictions persisted, I requested a cash refund four times during that period. But I never received a reply.
