IRFU not a property player, says Kevin Potts – but economic sustainability is a challenge

The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) is considering building a hotel on Lansdowne Road, says its CEO Kevin Potts. He tells me this as we are sitting in the stands, looking out over the empty pitch at a silent Aviva Stadium, contemplating the future of the game.

Right now, for the man leading Irish rugby, raising revenue is a more pressing issue than raising trophies.
