Planning delays have already cost the DAA an estimated €500m over the last four years due to inflation in construction costs as it awaits decisions for projects at Dublin Airport, according to chief executive Kenny Jacobs.

He said about €300m is due to inflationary costs associated with a €2.3bn infrastructure plan being assessed by Fingal County Council, which is currently expected to cost €2.6bn.
