As parents struggle to navigate the expensive world of childcare, many are looking for cost-effective solutions. One option that is growing in popularity is the nanny share — already a common arrangement in America, Canada and the UK, a number of Irish parents have chosen to share a nanny with another family to divide the bills.
Daniel Lawson, head of strategy at childcare platform Babysits.org, said: “Sometimes they search for a nanny together, while in other cases, the nanny is already working for one of the families, making coordination a bit easier. A contract is drawn and costs for the nannying are split among the families.”
