Meta takes Irish media regulator to court over size of levy

There has been an increase in the amount the tech giant is being asked to pay

Meta has launched a legal action against the Irish media regulator challenging the size of the levy it is being asked to pay.

The company, and its messaging service WhatsApp, have launched legal actions against Coimisiún na Meán on the basis that there has been a significant increase in the levy from last year. It is asking the High Court to examine how the fee was calculated.
