RTÉ’s decision to sell its 50pc stake in GAAGo was based purely on the GAA’s wish to take sole ownership, RTÉ’s head of sport has said.
In an interview published in today’s Sunday Independent sport section, RTÉ group head of sport Declan McBennett insisted the criticism the joint venture received played no role in the broadcaster’s decision to offload its share.
