Apted joins Aberdein Considine lender services team

Jamie Apted: strong track record

Commercial and banking lawyer Jamie Apted has joined Aberdein Considine as a partner in the firm’s Legal 500 Tier 1-ranked lender services team.

Mr Apted, who will be based in the firm’s Caddell House offices in Waterloo Street, Glasgow, joins from the London Metal Exchange, having previously worked at the Financial Ombudsman Service and in private practice.

He will work closely with Myra Scott, partner and head of the lender services practice group, and her colleagues.

“Jamie’s experience at the Ombudsman and London Metal Exchange has equipped him with a deep understanding of financial regulation in contentious contexts, as well as valuable insights into effective operations within a highly regulated environment.”

Mr Apted said: “I am thrilled to join the team and bring nearly a decade of experience in financial services disputes, which includes time spent at the Ombudsman and in one of the world’s major investment exchanges. I look forward to using my expertise to support Aberdein Considine’s clients.”

Cannon joins Levy & McRae

Malcolm Cannon, whose career has taken him to Hunter, the wellington boot maker, and Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre, has been appointed chief operating officer at Levy & McRae

He was also previously the chief executive at Cricket Scotland and head of the Institute of Directors in Scotland.
