A record €177m in film tax credits were claimed last year, Revenue says

Netflix show ‘Wednesday’ among those to benefit

The Irish-based co-production firm behind the Netflix production Wednesday was among the movie production companies claiming a record €177m in tax credits last year.

New figures provided by the Revenue Commissioners show there was a 46pc increase on the €121.6m paid out in movie tax credits in 2024, under the terms of Section 481 of the Taxes Consolidation Act.
