Markets rebound stalls as talk of easing tariffs on China cools yet again

A broad recovery across financial markets that began on Tuesday ran out of steam on Wednesday after the latest White House interjection on tariffs.

Shares across the globe rose overnight coming into Wednesday, led by Asia and spreading to Europe and the US. Gold fell from its record highs and the dollar recovered from recent losses after an apparent softening of language by US president Donald Trump.
