Growing up in Indiana, I became accustomed to Notre Dame dominating the college football season. The Fighting Irish were not just a team. They were an institution. For those of us who, like me, graduated from Indiana University, which never had a strong team, it meant watching success from the sidelines rather than celebrating it in our own colours.
