Air traffic control services in Ireland are now at breaking point. 

Ireland’s air traffic control services are at breaking point due to staff shortages, and the State’s main airports are facing sporadic and increasingly disruptive closures, controller representatives have warned.

An increasing reliance on overtime call-ins to keep the service running has become “dangerous and unsustainable”, the president of the Irish Air Traffic Controllers Association (Iatca) told the Sunday Independent.
