Government called on by property body to pause rent reforms to prevent landlord exodus

The changes, which aim to improve tenancy security, will come into force next month

Estate agents have called on the Government to pause radical reforms to the rental market due to be implemented from next month.

The annual residential property review from the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland (SCSI) shows member estate agents believe the planned changes are destabilising the rental market by forcing landlords to sell up ahead of them coming into force.
