More than €33m in money belonging to dead or missing patients has yet to be claimed from HSE, accounts show

More than €33m belonging to dead or missing patients is being held unclaimed in accounts managed by the HSE.

It includes nearly €6m in interest that is building up on the unclaimed balances, according to the most recent data to the end of 2024.
