This week’s Iranian-backed cyber attack on one of Ireland’s largest US multinationals, the Cork-based medical technology firm Stryker, is a reminder that the war isn’t just happening 5,000km away.

Outgunned on the battlefield, Iran appears to be targeting Western commercial and infrastructural interests as part of its retaliatory focus.
