Universal Music Group, the record label for artists such as Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter, reported sales that beat analysts’ estimates in the first quarter, boosted by global subscriber growth.
Total revenue for the three months ended March 31 rose 9.5pc when adjusted for currency fluctuations to €2.9bn ($3.31bn). That compared with the €2.76bn average analyst estimate, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
