A regime of 10pc tariffs – the expected outcome of trade talks between America and the EU next week – will have a negative impact on Irish business, experts have warned.

With less than a week to the July 9 deadline set by US president Donald Trump for a deal to be reached, after which he has threatened 50pc tariffs on EU imports, it is expected an outline agreement will be reached that includes a baseline 10pc levy.
