Myra Scott: proud of the team

Aberdein Considine’s Debt Recovery and Banking Litigation team has triumphed in the Credit Awards.

The firm fought off competition from across the UK to scoop the award for Legal Team of the Year at the credit industry’s premier awards event, held this year at Celtic Manor in Wales.

The Credit Awards honour follows the team’s success in being named Debt Recovery Team of the Year at The Herald’s Law Awards of Scotland 2024 last November.

Aberdein Considine’s Lender Services Practice Group, which focuses on specialist banking and financial litigation, is also shortlisted alongside the firm’s Dispute Resolution team for the Scottish Legal Awards 2025 Litigation Team of the Year, which will be held in September.

Aberdein Considine is a Legal 500 top-ranked banking litigation firm and has the UK’s largest volume recoveries team. 2024 was a record year in terms of turnover and new instruction volumes, and Myra Scott, head of the lender services practice group, was once again recognised as a L500 Leading Individual.

The firm was reappointed to the UK’s largest mortgage lender’s UK Recoveries Panel and was instructed on total outstanding mortgage balances in the UK of more than £1 billion in 2024.

Ms Scott said: “I couldn’t be prouder of our lender services practice group and their success in being named Legal Team of the Year at this year’s Credit Awards. It’s testament to their steadfast dedication to providing the best possible service to our much-valued clients across the UK.

“Our continued focus is on maintaining and enhancing our position as one of the country’s leading banking litigation firms, working with most of the UK’s major banks and financial institutions.

“This Credit Award further reinforces our hard-won reputation for excellence and will spur us on to keep delivering at the top of our game.”
