On Thursday, Microsoft became the second $4tn (€3.5tn) company in the world, after Nvidia.
It’s not just that its financial results showed its cloud computing doing well, or that the world’s IT managers still make everyone use Microsoft’s Office for their own reasons; it’s that Microsoft has been cleverly on board the AI train since the beginning, from investing in OpenAI to branding Copilot and generally being savvy about AI being important to computing.
