The collapse in home ownership among people under the age of 44 – outlined by a new housing report – has been described as “a disaster” for Ireland’s young generation.
The report – prepared by the Hardware Association of Ireland (HAI), whose membership includes most of Ireland’s main building materials suppliers – details how thousands of extra homes above what local authorities are planning are needed every year just to catch up on the crisis.
