QuizWizards, an audience engagement firm, became the hub’s latest start-up, joining over 160 companies currently based at the centre.
GEC claims it is now Ireland’s largest start-up campus. Companies that have graduated from the hub include anti-fraud technology business Urban Fox, software company Mobility Mojo and educational technology firm Move Ahead.
Created in 2000, GEC is a not-for-profit business hub based in the Liberties in Dublin. It enables businesses to grow and develop into established companies. Resident start-ups contribute €2m a year to GEC revenues, which the hub said gets reinvested back into its operations.
The latest graduates will be replaced by The Safer Plug Company, which develops pipeline isolation technology, and Archetype, an events agency, along with the 1,500th resident, QuizWizards.
Founded by Rory McEvoy, QuizWizards is a sports technology company specialising in quizzes that promote fan engagement and help businesses and organisations to learn more about their customers.
They recently signed a deal with Leinster Rugby to provide services around fan engagement at matches and on social media.

Mr McEvoy said: “We are immensely proud to be the 1,500th company through the Guinness Enterprise Centre’s doors. The energy, support, and network here have given QuizWizards a real boost as we expand our team.

The founding partners of GEC are Diageo, Dublin City Council, Dublin City Local Enterprise Office, Enterprise Ireland and Furthr.
