Pharma tariff ‘win’ for Ireland, but price of Guinness and Jameson could rise in US

The Taoiseach and Tánaiste have welcomed clarity on the EU-US trade deal, with the US committing to capping tariffs on pharma goods at 15pc.

However, it has been warned that ­tariffs on Irish alcohol brands such as Guinness and Jameson could add to their price in US bars, with an expert report predicting an increase of $1 (86c) on a glass of whiskey.
