Amphitheatre Ireland directors say the venue is performing strongly and attracting big shows

Sold-out shows from Olivia Rodrigo, Girls Aloud, Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally, and the Wolfe Tones, helped the firm that operates Dublin’s 3Arena to pre-tax profits of €20.7m last year.
New accounts filed by the Live Nation-owned Amphitheatre Ireland Ltd show that profit for the financial year increased to €18.2m from €17.0m in 2023. Pre tax profits increased to €20.7m in 2024 vs €19.09m in 2023.
The directors state that the “3Arena continued to perform strongly in 2024, attracting promoters of the best shows and large audience numbers”.
They added that the increase in profits “is mainly a result of the growth in turnover and operational efficiencies achieved during 2024”.
According to the directors, the number of events at 3Arena increased from 117 in 2023 to 126 last year, while the number of patrons attending events decreased from 1.069 million to 1.054 million.
The firm paid out a dividend of €7.7m to parent firm Live Nation Ireland Holdings last year and, in a post balance sheet event, paid out a further dividend of €10m in 2025.
The company recorded post-tax profits of €18.24m after incurring a corporation tax charge of €2.47m.
Figures published by trade industry journal Pollstar earlier this year show that box office revenues at the 3Arena in the 12 months to mid-November last year show that the venue recorded box office revenues of €71.37m.
In one gig alone, singer songwriter Stevie Nicks generated €1.9m at the box office on the back of ticket prices ranging from €140 to €302.
The venue was ranked eighth among European arena venues in terms of box office revenues in 2024.
The Pollstar figures – based on returns made by the 3Arena – show that a number of Irish performers recorded bumper box offices during the year.
Amphitheatre Ireland’s directors state that they “expect 2025 turnover, Ebitda [earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation] and profit after tax to be in line with 2024”.
Numbers employed by the firm last year increased from 45 to 47, and staff costs increased from €2.63m to €2.88m.
The company recorded operating profits of €18.9m and interest income of €1.79m added to the profits.
Accumulated profits at Amphitheatre Ireland totalled €69.37m, while cash funds increased from €5.8m to €17.8m.
