Post Offices are seeing a lower level of transactions.
The Government is planning to spend another €75m over the next five years to support the ailing Post Office network, which is now down to just 841 shops.
Subject to Cabinet approval, there will be an allocation of €15m a year to the network from next January, an annual increase of €5m on the present arrangement.
