It’s 24 years since Apple changed the face of music and helped spawn the age of unlimited everything. Here’s why that’s a bad thing

This week, the iPod celebrated its 24th birthday. I remember how exciting it was. A pocketable digital device that could store hundreds, or even thousands, of songs.

It was a triumph in tech. Life would be better! But it wasn’t.
