Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has used almost €60m worth of cryptocurrency to invest in three of his Dublin-based firms, according to company filings.

Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange, has eight companies registered in Ireland. Mr Zhao was released from prison last year after being sentenced to four months when he pleaded guilty to violating US anti-money laundering laws at Binance, which is the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.
