Regulator wants RTÉ and TG4 to get more money from taxpayers

It warns that broadcasters will become an increasing drain on public purse

Coimisiún na Meán has recommended that both RTÉ and TG4 be given millions of euro extra to help them meet their public service obligations.

The conclusion of its five-year review of funding for the two stations is that RTÉ should be allocated €255m in 2026, and €275m in 2027.
