Escalating risks in Venezuela and Russian threats rattle oil prices

Oil swung in choppy trading yesterday as fresh escalation in tensions between Russia and Ukraine raised the possibility of further supply disruptions.

Prices began yesterday down, with West Texas Intermediate falling as much as 1.75pc to trade near $58 a barrel.
