
Scotland will face Ireland in the Men’s Rugby World Cup finals for the third time in a row following the draw for the 2027 tournament.
Gregor Townsend’s men will also come up against Uruguay and Portugal when they launch their bid for glory in Australia.
The tournament takes place from 1 October – 13 November 2027, in seven venues in seven cities, and has been expanded to feature 24 teams for the first time.
There are six groups of four teams with the top two from each pool, along with the four best third-place teams, going through to the knockout stage – a first-ever round of 16.
Hosts Australia will feature in the mouth-water group stage fixture with New Zealand having been drawn in Pool A alongside the Wallabies.
England and Wales will face off in Pool F, with defending champions South Africa, who are bidding to win a third successive World Cup, are in Pool B with Italy, Georgia and Romania.
