Marie Owen: accelerating growth

Marketing locations firm LS Productions is looking to expand its activities into new markets after securing new funding.

The Leith-based company has worked with a number of global clients, including fashion and film companies, has agreed a growth loan worth £800,000 from the British Business Bank.

It recently worked on an advertising campaign for Scotch whisky brand Glenmorangie that featured Indiana Jones actor Harrison Ford.

LS Productions, established by former air steward Marie Owen, marks its 20th anniversary next year and recently moved into original content creation with its work on the documentary ‘Irvine Welsh – Reality is Not Enough’.

It will use the new funds to support a range of activities from boosting its 50-strong payroll to investing in its proprietary technology, sales and marketing.

Ms Owen, chief executive, said: “This loan will allow us to accelerate our growth plans significantly, ultimately enhancing our ability to secure major international productions.

“Creative industries are a hugely important contributor to Scotland’s economy, and we are excited to use this investment to continue driving innovation, create more jobs and encourage even more major brands to work with a Scottish-based production company.”
