Claims members are frustrated about cost-of-living increases and a disappointing budget

Earlier this week, it emerged that union officials plan to lodge claims for pay rises of between 4.7pc and 6pc on behalf of their members – up to double the 3pc that business groups are expected to offer.
Mandate said yesterday that Dunnes Stores had announced a 3pc pay rise for its workers. The union said that is not good enough, as it does not keep pace with inflation or rising prices for essentials.
