For most people in Ireland, the postal system has always been something you only notice when it works: a birthday card arrives, a parcel lands on the doorstep, a return is dropped into a post office and quietly disappears into the system.
It has long been built on an assumption of trust that once something is handed over, it will get where it is going. In 2025, that assumption was repeatedly tested.
