Bank of England (BoE) rate-setter Catherine Mann has said the UK economy is “sluggish” and “tepid”, with consumers “scarred” by high inflation and spending less as a result.

In an interview with The Telegraph published on Saturday, the Monetary Policy Committee member said that “key elements” for growth were currently missing.
