If I apply for a sabbatical will I still be able to take voluntary redundancy?

Q Voluntary redundancies were announced in my place of work in April 2024. We were led to believe this would be a swift process. I applied and was accepted but my exit date that was given is the fourth quarter of next year. My employers offer a sabbatical. This is for one to two years at any given time. My question is, if I applied for a sabbatical and was accepted would this affect my voluntary redundancy package?

A Voluntary redundancy occurs when an employer provides employees with the option to leave their job with a financial payment, often during times when a company wishes to restructure or downsize, said Caroline Reidy, head of HR solutions with insurance broker NFP Ireland.
