There’s no getting around it: weddings are expensive. Many couples don’t even realise quite how expensive until they start to plan their own, but the average cost of a wedding today is €36,000, according to wedding magazine OneFabDay.com.
Of course, the only money you have to spend is the €200 notification fee to legally register your marriage. Once you begin planning, however, the costs can quickly pile up, with seemingly endless choices for everything from the flowers to the food to the photography.
