The week ahead: Bank of Ireland, AIB and Permanent TSB release full-year results

Bank of Ireland releases its results today, giving the first snapshot of the week for the Irish banking sector.

The figures are expected to provide details on lending activity, net interest income, costs and shareholder returns, as well as guidance for the year ahead.

The banking results continue midweek – on Wednesday, AIB Group reports its full-year figures, followed on Thursday by full-year figures from Permanent TSB.

With three domestic lenders posting annual numbers in the space of four days, investors are expected to compare performance across Ireland’s main banks.

Aside from the banks, the week also brings a steady run of company earnings and events.

Today will see fresh inflation data when the Central Statistics Office (CSO) publishes its flash estimate of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices for February, offering an early signal on price pressures.

The Central Bank of Ireland will also release Investment Funds Statistics for the fourth quarter of 2025, detailing the assets and liabilities of investment and money market funds over the period.

Research policy is also in focus. Research Ireland launches its strategy, Charting Ireland’s Research and Innovation Future 2026–2030, in the Round Room in the Mansion House today. Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Innovation Minister James Lawless are due to attend.

On Wednesday, the CSO is set to publish its Monthly Unemployment figures for February, following a 4.7pc rate recorded in January.

On the earnings front, house-builder Cairn Homes reports its full-year results alongside AIB, providing updates on housing completions.

Alongside Permanent TSB’s results, building materials’ distributor Grafton Group and renewable energy investor Greencoat Renewables publishes its full-year figures on Thursday.

The chief financial officer (CFO) summit hosted by EY in partnership with the Financial Times will also take place online on Thursday. It will aim to discuss how CFOs and their teams can build resilience in the current economic landscape.

Speakers will include Finance Minister Simon Harris former Tánaiste and Enterprise Minister Simon Coveney and former Conservative UK cabinet minister Michael Gove.

The week concludes on Friday with the CSO’s Women in the Labour Market 2025 release and insurer FBD Holdings releasing its annual figures.
