A new agreement has been signed to help Scottish businesses build on the UK trade agreement with India.
The Scottish Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
New Chambers chief executive Charandeep Singh said: “Scotland and India share a long?standing and deeply rooted relationship, strengthened by our people?to?people connections and a dynamic Indian diaspora that continues to enrich Scotland’s economy and society.
“This MoU marks a practical step to maximise the opportunities from the UK-India Free Trade Agreement with a focus on opening new opportunities for businesses across both nations.”
Businesses interested in exploring opportunities in India will have the chance to do so later this year, as the Scottish Chambers of Commerce leads a Business Mission to India in Autumn 2026. Companies interested in joining can register their interest by contacting: international@scottishchambers.org.uk.
