In 2020 my wife and I became somewhat accidental landlords. With three growing children, we had outgrown our three-bed semi-d and were looking to buy a larger house.

However, we didn’t want to do the typical thing of selling our house first and then needing to rush to buy a new home. We managed to find one lender who was able to refinance our current house and allow us to release equity rather than sell to move.
