Push for Ireland to introduce three more bank holidays in line with EU neighbours

Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands are only countries with fewer days

The Government is facing calls to introduce more bank holidays, with two opposition parties saying people should be given more time off.

Ireland has 10 public holiday days each year, but the European average is 12. Cyprus has the most public holidays with 15 every year.
