EU tightens links with India and Indonesia, and moves to restrict Israeli trade

Pivot towards Asia comes as part of plan to diversify supply chains

EU officials are moving to open new markets for the bloc, tightening trade links with India and Indonesia, while Israel’s access to European markets is set to be restricted, as part of efforts to rein in its attacks in Gaza.

The EU has also ramped up negotiations with Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand.
