Patrick Murphy’s Tapestry VC backed Carl Pei’s firm at the very start of its journey

This week, the phone and headphones hardware company Nothing raised $200m to give Carl Pei’s five-year-old start-up a valuation of $1.3bn.
For Pei, who previously co-founded the phone brand OnePlus and who has said that Nothing’s sales are heading toward $1bn this year, it’s a minor miracle – the smartphone market is dominated by Apple, Samsung, Google and a handful of giant Chinese firms.
