Russia buying sanctioned goods from third countries to aid its war machine is a “primary concern” for the Government, after an investigation revealed huge spikes in Irish exports to countries in Moscow’s orbit.

Last week, the Sunday Independent reported that Irish exports to a group of countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, had reached almost €216.5m by the end of 2024.
