Primeline Group, one of Ireland’s largest logistics firms, has created over 400 jobs in the last two years helped by a multi-million euro investment in a huge hub in Ashbourne, Co Meath.
The new jobs bounce at Primeline comes as the company reveals pre-tax profits of €4.8m in new accounts for the year ended June 30, 2024, down almost a third from the previous year. The fall in profit was due to €2.9m of commissioning costs with the launch of its new facility.
Primeline said it would continue to invest in the Irish business.
“The company undertook a major investment in its future in 2024 with the building and opening of a new €50m, 33,445 sq m distribution hub at its headquarters in Ashbourne Business Park in Co Meath,” a spokeswoman said.
“Primeline has also undertaken a number of high-profile acquisitions over the last few years, and the business continues to grow and perform well. We plan to continue to invest in the business into the future and create more jobs in Ireland as the company grows.”
Primeline increased its turnover to over €156.7m in 2024, up from €149.1m.
Primeline Group, founded by Danny Geoghegan, employs 1,500 people across its operations, with the company also claiming to be Co Meath’s largest employer. The company’s massive fleet of vehicles makes over 25,000 deliveries to more than 7,500 outlets around Ireland each week.
