Influencers hit with €3.3m in tax bills as Revenue targets the sector

Online activity is tracked so that any discrepancy in reported income can be uncovered

Social media influencers have stumped up €3.3m in tax after the Revenue Commissioners investigated their online activities.

Revenue initiated 77 so-called Level 2 interventions between 2020 and this year against social media influencers, media-content creators and other individuals operating through online platforms.
