Richard Curran: The Government cannot continue pocketing this misery tax on fuel

Ireland charges Vat on top of the price of fuel, which already includes excise and carbon tax

Forget “if” the Government is going to cut taxes on fuel, the only issue is “when”.

But if the war in Iran continues as it is now for months, then getting 15c or 20c off a litre of fuel at the pumps will be the least of our problems.
