It is disappointing that the Ombudsman for Children’s Office (OCO) does not endorse a ban on phones in school. Its “One Size Does Not Fit All” report, published on September 10, concluded it was not in the best interests of children to take phones away during the school day.
Let’s be clear, smartphones are part of all of our lives, they have huge positives. But we also know how addictive and distracting social media and gaming can be.
